Yep! Got my first turn at the stick at age 11. Been surrounded by aviation my whole life.

Learned because my pop is a very senior A&P. So we flew in return for him keeping guys planes in flying. We've kicked around getting a share in a Cirrus.

I've actually started kicking aroung getting my fling wing ticket. I used to do pyrotecnics for this outfit: Army Aviation Heritage Foundation
Which enabled me to get my hands on the cyclin in a many Huey's, a Cobra, and a Hughes 500. Oh, and an OV1 Mohawk; love that thing. Soooo... There are some ultra-light helicopters that I'm tweaked by, like the Helicycle, and Rotorways.

I feel an inferiority complex with Condor up in this thread....

I soloed several years ago on a C 152, it was such a special experience. Still remember the 3 touch and go's without the CFI as if it was yesterday. Weather was perfect.
I never put the time to get my license, got too busy at work/home. One day...

My family has had a history of having planes, helicopters and a Lear at one time. Looking to start taking lessons this year. I have always wanted to get my pilots license.

Started at 17, soloed and ran out of money.

At 33, I finally recommitted and finished getting my Private. Bought a 1972 Piper Arrow II the following week and have been loving life ever since. Currently in the market for a Cessna 310 (wife wants to take the whole family on trips and the cruise performance is a huge bonus).

Currently finishing up my Instrument ticket and am working with an MEI to get my AMEL for the 310. Will then do Commercial and CFI.
