It`s just amazing to see them landing on such a small strip ,having to catch the correct wire and in every weather....plus the "strip" is always moving away from you since the ship moves and the landing are is not aligned with the ships heading...oh and the little runway pitches up and down,so you have to correct that as well

geez....
that`s some awesome footage!
The first one was unbelievable....it simply plowed throught that huge spray of the wave!
I have never met a carrier pilot,but it would be interesting to chat about that stuff
must be crazy at night and/or in really bad weather
and one thing that would add to the stress(at least for me personally) is that simply diverting is not an option

look at how perfect he pulls of this landing...
damn...I mean,literally perfect in capturing glide slope and localizer,spot on and then bam he got the wire..
I wonder how bored these guys must be when they retire and go to an airline..

My uncle was a 27 year carrier aviator, He was a test pilot and one of the developers for the F/A-18. He said landing on a carrier at night is like trying to throw a dart at a postage stamp on the floor across a room blindfolded
