Arrow F-16 Thunderbird Crash

We have all seen the picture, and some have seen the videos, but few of us know the story. So, I figured I would post some of the video and the link to the story.

That is wild, glad no one got hurt. I've seen the Thunderbirds many times, they put on a great show.

Just glad no one was injured!! Back in the early 80's at the Cleveland Air Show a Thunderbird ended up in Lake Erie as he was leaving for the next destination. The engine was stalled by ingesting a bunch of seagulls, the pilot ejected but did not survive as he landed on the break-wall. The Thunder Birds have never landed at Burke again, they take off from Cleveland Hopkins in his honor.

That photo of the pilot ejecting is amazing! Talk about being in the right place at the right time for that photo.

dont they usualy suffer quite serious compound spine injuries since the blast is so abrupt???
