PC-12 short field takeoff

This is a crappy iPhone video, but I watched this PC-12 depart from our airport yesterday. We are only 2660' x 60', and this guy was easily off the ground in 1500'. He was probably light on fuel, but still impressive.

The PC-12 is definitely an AMAZING airplane. I have demo'd it a few times already with my father. We have been considering one for a while now.

People say they don't like having a single engine, but that doesn't bother me at all. The engine is the PT-6 and is the most reliable Turbo Prop out there, not to mention that turbine engines are infinitely more reliable than piston engines.

The PC-12 has an enormous cabin, with extremely comfortable seats. It's also much quieter than a King Air since you don't have two engines next to the cabin. You can load it up with fuel and passengers and go 1700 NM. Since you don't have the added drag of the extra engine you can keep the speed up (280kts) and you don't have another thirsty engine to feed. It's a much more efficient plane. Also, the acquisition cost is much lower. The avionics are amazing. It has Trailing link landing gear that makes all landings super smooth, and it was designed to land on unimproved/dirt runways.

Oh, I can fit 2 Harley Davidson Motorcycles in the back and take them somewhere I want to go ride.

Kind of a hard landing for what should be a soft field landing though. He's lucky it wasn't muddy.

We've got one....the kids love it! Far from the fastest bird in the sky, but very capable and cost efficient.

Very nice Pilatus. Thanks for sharing with us. Do you fly it yourself? Had it for long?

Taxi was kind of rough too. I was really hoping I wasn't about to witness a prop strike.
