F-18 Crashes in Alberta, pilot ejects

YouTube - Raw Video: Canadian Jet Pilot Escapes Crash

Canadian pilot managed to eject from his F18 just seconds before it crashes in a ball of flames. The pilot was performing a low altitude pass during a practice session in Alberta when his plane lost control and spun towards the ground.
In the footage, provided by Associated Press, you can see the pilot eject. Two seconds later his plane is engulfed in flames as it hits the ground.
It is understood he is now recovering in hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Incredible. Glad, the pilot managed to escape.

We're going to an event next month at the Cold Lake Canadian Forces Base, Northern Alberta, next month. A bunch of cars racing against an F-18 jet. This was a very scary, happened at an air show here last week. I sure hope this doesn't mar the "Race the Base" event.

Damn, first time I watched it I thought the plane lost lift... I don't know though; seems like it kind of veers off to the right in some awkward way. Thanks for the clip
