How old do you have to be to start taking flying lessons? Same age as driving a car?

In the US, you can start taking lessons as soon as you can safely reach all of the controls. You have to be 16 before you can solo, and 17 before you can earn your license.

If I had a helicopter and loads of money to spend on each flight I would have done that when I was 17 too! I bet anyone would.
