Americas FIRST Air Force One, SAM970 Polished and waxed..........

SAM (Special Air Mission) 970, "QUEENIE," is the first JET powered Air Force one. It is currently on display out doors at the Museum of Flight in Seattle, Washington. She had been retired in 1996.

The museum understands regular maintenance of the paint and bright work will perserve the craft so a call to MOL member Renny Doyle was made.

This would be the second or third time Renny had worked on the plane.

20 independent detailers from across the United States joined forces to perform the job.

The paint and aluminum was oxidized and this baby was huge so we had our work cut out for us.

thanks for sharing...you're definitely taking the detailing section here to the next level with not just any jet's but planes with some serious history, nice work!

Awesome, repped!

Does the Concorde receive similar treatment?

Awesome pics! I was watching a special on HD Theatre the other day called "Luxury Planes" with this plane or a similar one being featured. A lot if interesting history behind these planes.

It was big and it did take 20 or so of us 4 days to do it but it was a blast to do.
