As a lowly Arrow driver, I've been right seat in all of these except the 400. Once you get past how fast it goes and how much fuel it'll burn, I'd have to say get the one with the most room up front. I have not flown in a Mooney yet where I wasn't rubbing shoulders with the other guy the entire flight. I can't see doing that on a cross country of any significant length.

Edit: It dawns on me you probably know this lol. I'll go back to lurk mode now.

I've heard great things about the Cessna 400 as well

Great planes. My father has had 2 cirrus planes. I absolutely love them, and I am eager to try out the new perspective garmin system.

IMO, I would go with Cirrus, however I would only be struggling between the Cirrus and the C400. The Mooney`s cockpit is way too small, and that would be very uncomfortable for a long trip, even for a short trip. And depending on your size, the 182 has the same problem. I am not a big guy at 5`9 180lbs, but flying a 182 with my cousin who is 6` 220lbs, I feel sandwiched between him and the door. Even with someone of my own size, I don`t feel like I have enough personal space.

CIRRUS has a parachute system which is a deal sealer for me.
182s are very nice as well.
How do you like the cessna 400s?

I think you're the first person I've heard publicly admit the CAPS is a negative. Why is it a deal breaker for you personally?

Sweet! Cirrus quality and carbon fiber looks. Is it the turbo model?

You can add a BRS chute to a 182 if it's a must. You lose 85lbs of load tho.
