Bologna airport will be using a white Aventador as their FOLLOW ME car
From today, May 6. until Sunday, May 19. 2013 you will be able to see a very special car on the tarmac of the Aeroporto di Bologna (G. Marconi) to guide the airplanes to their terminal ... the latest 'Follow me' vehicle is a real life Lamborghini Aventador, finished in white so pilots can see it, this amazing V12 also features a red checkered flag livery completed with 50° Anniversario logo.
Naturally the car shows large 'FOLLOW ME' signs and has a lightbar on top of the roof while a radio has been installed to keep in constant contact with the control tower where the airplanes are guided onto the correct landing script ... where this Lamborghini will be waiting to show the pilots and passengers to their appointed airport terminal.
During this time the car will in fact be driven by people from the Aeroporto di Bologna who have been instructed just how to drive this 700 hp V12 Bull by none other than Mario Fasanetto ... test driver for Automobili Lamborghini SpA, in fact the technical staff was trained to drive the Aventador right on a restricted part of the airport to get the conditions just right.
During the 50th Anniversary celebrations of Automobili Lamborghini SpA there will be a display of cars from the exclusive museum collection right in front of the Marconi Business Lounge entrance while two Lamborghinis are shown on the ground floor of the G. Marconi Airport in Bologna, these latter two will combine one classic Bull and a current exotic ... rumor has it these two models will be rotated on a quarterly interval ... the Aeroporto di Bologna is an official, technical sponsor for the 50° Anniversario di Lamborghini by the way.

This doesn't sit well with me, there are people who are on a waiting list for a Aventador, this UAE and These fools receive a Lamb just like that. Whats wrong with something less exotic. And As for UAE, it pretty pathetic as that now all of a sudden then want to has one of ever exotic car built in the police fleet.

Why so much hate? I find it strange / yet awesome at the same time they're using an A Vent A door. But after all it's an Italian airport so why wouldn't they have access to something "made in Italy" lol
Also thanks for sharing about the Dubai Police wanting 1 of every exotic
that's straight bonkers but very much Dubai

It's probably just a press car, or a dealer car. Not a brand new one just for that.

I am also sure it's a publicity thing. I think it's pretty awesome

naa, not upset, just confused. Make sense that it's probably a dealership car, though still not sure why they really need a extoric car to show a plane their parking space. Seems a waste for something so beauitiful.
lol trust me quickZohsix if I was with a supermodel, the world will be hearing from it.

My guess is this is a factory car 'on loan' to the Bologna airport, as they stated it will only used up to May 19, so after that I'm sure it will return to the factory.
This is just another marketing trick I think, a lot of people are flying into Bologna airport for the 50th anniversary celebrations, so having an Aventador right on the airport makes sense ... also note the airport itself is a sponsor for the celebrations ... so it is a 'win win' situation probably.
Last time I was at the factory they were only building one Roadster on the line, while there are already a lot of orders ... but the backlog on the coupé is already large, so I expect less than 10% of total production on the LP700 will be Roadsters ... add to this the LP720-4 that has to be built on the same line and I don't expect the waiting list to grow shorter any time soon.
