Just for fun I created this virtual Aventador LP720-4 50th Anniversary edition.
According to the Lamborghini design director Filippo Perini the 50th Anniversary edition model will be extremely limited, we first heard numbers like 100 units of an Aventador LP710-4, later we learned from an interview with Mr Perini in Miami, production would be limited to less than 10 units of something truly special ... could it be the LP720-4 we've heard about recently ?

Why is everything thinking it could be a Aventador, could be something completely different, ie. the "J". they already said they want to shock the world and an tuned up Aventador is not really that shocking. Now when they presented the "J" or the Sesto Elemento, now those where models that were shocking. We've already seen tuned Aventdors by DMC and others. Plus a SV version is not for a few years and that is supposed to be faster than the base model.

I hope it doesn't resemble the Aventador. That thing is huge. Perhaps it will be right in between the size of a Gallardo and Aventador but with even more power than the LP700. I'm sure it'll be great though, especially if they want to compete with the Enzo replacement.

Take a look at this quote :
Mr Reggiani did state it will not be a totally new model, but more a radical evolution of an existing model, and I sure hope it will remain true to the anniversary models of the past and be based on the V12 flagship model ... so an Aventador 50th Anniversary edition ... and according to Stephan Winkelmann they will continue to invest in special edition cars, he stated: "One-offs and low volume special editions are part of Lamborghini's DNA – they allow us to be purists."
So it will not be something radical as the Sesto Elemento, but more like a modified Aventador I think ... Perhaps a closed version with J styling ... But that would be too simple I think.

This car and Anniversary Edition of Aventador seems to be two different projects. There'll be 100 50th Anniversary Aventador coupes and only 10 Roadsters. And this seems to be something more exclusive and one-off. I can be wrong though, nothing more than just a guess, Lambo corporate keeping lips pretty tight on this.
