Lamborghini Sesto Elemento production begins

It's an amazing car for sure, but it's price is simply ridiculous! Even rich Arabs will maybe think twice before buying it. Not because they couldn't afford it but its just overpriced as hell.
The engine is from the Gallardo Super Leggera, which means it doesn't produce any costs for development. Mercedes developed the 6.2 engine completely new just for their AMG modells, they didnt take the standard engines and just tune it like they done before, so and this is for a 100-120 thousand AMG. Now we look to the lambo and it costs 1.5 Million and for what? The only special thing about it, is that it weights 999kg, but that doesent justify this price. Even as a Lambofanboy I think Lambo take it a bit to far this time.
It will be insanely fast, no doubt about that, but will it have AWD? I doubt it with 999kg. Would be nicer with RWD.
And how much will it cost really? The headline says 2.6 Million, the description 1.5 Million?

^^^^ Producing a car that has very high tech composites like this one is a hell of expensive. The monocoque is made using forged composite, the crash structures are made in carbon-derived composites (first exotic to feature this), the suspension arms are made in composite too (first exotic to feature this too). Most of this features can be seen only in single-seaters. Develop this cost a hell of money, most of this materials will be in the Lamborghini's road cars in a near future, but now only a car like the Sesto Elemento can feature this. In the technical aspect this thing is even more epic than the Ferrari FXX or the Zonda R. Consider this car as something important for Lamborghini's future.

I've red about it and yes its very high-tech, no doubt about that. But when you compare it to the Bugatti Veyron development its still nothing. VW destroyed several Veyrons over years, the gearbox, drivetrain etc. was making a lot of problems. And all this issues with taking so much time to solve them, was extreme expensive. In this region(dev. costs) the Sesto Elemento will never come to, because the technic is already proved in other Lambos. But its still as expensive(if 1.5 Million) as the veyron, so it's a bit overpriced for me. But who cares? I bet it's already sold out.
Not to get me wrong, I would love to see this car on Spa, N'schleife and Top Gear, would be very interesting and especially with some tuning upgrades.
I just hope Lamborghini will reveal a RWD car in the future.

Well, it's true that VAG looses money with every Veyron that it makes. Imagine the costs of developing a car for selling only 20 units. That's the reason for the high price.
Thinking in a near future Lamborghini will feature this tech on its road cars. Imagine an Aventador with only 1.200 kg, or a Gallardo with 1.100. I think that in ten years it will be possible.

Makes me so happy to see that etched in there.

Lamborghini's decision to start the production of the sesto elemento and 'undoubtedly a good news .. the exceptional power / weight ratio makes it one of the supercar more 'desirable. remains to be seen the response of the track.
However, good Lamborghini!

I doubt we'll be seeing the Sesto Elemento on the track any time soon, I would love to see that too, even the Stig on the Top Gear track would be nice ... but very unlikely ... instead I think we'll be seeing another Top Gear Dubai special with one of the guys driving a privately owned one.
RWD ... you still have the Gallardo LP550-2 right now, that's rear wheel drive only ... remember the manual gearbox is already gone, and I think the next generation V10 will come with four wheel drive too, at least at first.

I'm curious about when it comes to the first test!
