While waiting for the replacement for the Gallardo, Lamborghini is launching special edition after special edition. We have a chat with Olari Vokk of Lamborghini on what's going on really.

Peter Ternström: The Paris motor show saw yet another facelifted Gallardo. Is this really so much better than the previous one? Or am I under the wrong impression here?

Olari Vokk: This is new Gallardo that was shown in Paris MS, the segmentation in between the Gallardo product line currently involving three different models needed to be differentiated not only internally but also to look slightly different externally, thus the entry level Gallardo LP550-2 Having both coupe and spyder versions is considered the uncopromised basic sportscar, having all the fun and performance figures of real supersportscar. Gallardo LP560-4 with its 4 wheel drive and astonishing new looks shows the sophistication of an advanced supersports car and not the least not the least Gallardo LP570-4 Edizione Tecnica is the ultimate from the ultimate of the supersportscars in terms of performance and esthetics to compleate the most successful Lamborghini ever with over 13 000 Gallardos produced to date.

PT: And, yesterday, yet another special version of the Gallardo was released. A convertible. What is going on here?

OV: Well of course, we need to keep the model line fresh and so the Spyder edition for the 560-4 version was shown this is also a brand new and fantastic gallardo

PT: Olari. Please. How many special versions of the Gallardo are you going to release?

OV: We have at least four editions of the Gallardo underway for the first quarter of 2013 alone, as the cars presented during Paris and following weeks will start rolling off the production and reach streets worldwide.

PT: You must be joking.

OV: Yes, I am joking. Or maybe not. Who knows, there will be a surprise in store for all supersportscar enthusiasts.

PT: Seriously?

OV: Yes, this is as much as I can tell You today about what is scheduled for 2013.

PT: Why are you doing this? Arent there enough special versions of the Gallardo?

OV:. Lamborghini's primary goal has always been to create the most technically advanced cars and the form has to follow the function.

PT: I hear rumors about a new tricolore. If you have four of those it actually could mean you are really releasing a "dodici-colore".

OV: That is not correct. Defenetly can confirm at least dodici colore's avalible for Gallardo range on 2013 Geneva MS

PT: So many colors?

OV: No, there is a certain planning made and all good things will come, I can promise You that Lamborghini is THE supercar defeloper of today.

PT: When is the replacement for the Gallardo here?

OV: Not next year

PT: How powerful will the replacement for the Gallardo be?

OV: It will outperform others.

PT: You sure?

OV: This I am totally sure of.

PT: Really?

OV: Speculations of course, one thing for sure this car will be incredibly fast.

PT: Will you use the same building technique with a carbon fibre monocoque as in the Aventador?

OV: No comments.

PT: Is it true that the replacement for the Gallardo is going to have the "scissor doors" from the 12-cylinder cars?

OV: No comments here either.

PT: What can you say about the replacement for Gallardo?

OV: Nothing. Except one thing.

PT: And that is?

OV: It will be more powerful.

PT: Please give some detail, making this interview at least a little valuable for the reader.

OV: It will drive on four wheels, this is all that is available today.

PT: Thank you for your time, Olari.

OV: Wait

PT: ?

OV: I can also confirm it will be more powerful. Thank you for calling.
seriously?

Olari Vokk is the CEO of Lamborghini dealership in Tallinn, Estonia, Europe's smallest Lamborghini dealership selling 5 cars a year.

I really don't know why they were calling him for the top-secret inside info. Only Lambo dealership CEO worth calling and speaking to is our good friend Brett of Prestige Imports.

While we all can't wait to see what Lamborghini can come up with maybe the Gallardo is just Lamborghini's 911 "timeless" design excellent performance or maybe it's just a testament to how great the car is so it's difficult to replace. How many years was the Countach in production 16 years? IMO the Gallardo still holds its own compared to everything else currently out there. Whatever the replacement is it's going to have to be a game changer not just a new design for me to be compelled trade up. I'm surely not buying a Ferrari anytime soon

Tired of these STUPID "NEW" editions... everybody wants to see the new model, but not another "new" edition of an old model..
