Gallardo Successor Will Simply, Add Less Models

That's what we've been waiting for ... another special edition ... check out the Gallardo LP580-4 Ultimo, the ultimate V10 with 10hp more, different styling and available in only three shades ...
Verde Ithaca:

Arancio Borealis:

Nero Noctis:

All with carbon front splitter, carbon side sills, 'tricolore' striping on the side, 'ULTIMO' script and full black roof and pillars ...
You'll have to admit a rear wheel drive Super Trofeo Stradale doesn't sound right, it is a street legal version of the 4wd race car ... even a Spyder STS sounds strange to me ... but with Lamborghini you never know.
I do hope they will allow the Gallardo to go out with a bang, something like the Murcielago Super Veloce ... but in V10 shape, and it would make sense: think about it, they don't have the production space for the Aventador Roadster yet, but a special edition Gallardo goes on the same production line as the regular Gallardo, so no extra delay for the V12 ... and they do not have a V10 replacement ready yet, will take at least 12 more months to get a concept together.
So timing wise it would make total sense : 2012 Paris show with another limited edition Gallardo, 2013 Geneva show for the Aventador Roadster and 2013 IAA with a V10 successor concept while the production version gets unveiled at the 2014 Geneva Show and we'll get an Urus production version at the 2014 Paris show and V10 Spyder in Geneva in 2015 ... sounds logical no ?

I'm excited to finally see a replacement for the Gallardo, it's about time. I like thinking that they may not be making so many special editions. I feel like if you were to just order a gallardo the way you want it, it would be more of a special edition that the SE's out there.
On the gear box; I guess it was inevitable, but it really makes me sad. I really enjoy the manual transmission so much more and really wish they would offer it. Hell, put it in as an extra option. Not many would take it, but people like me would. With Jag announcing that they will be using a manual gear box in the future, and porsche continuing with it, those are the cars that will excite me in the future. Never thought I would say that about a Jag though.
