murcielago...broken gear lever??

hi guys,
went and checked a 2002 lambo murcielago today, the car seems in good condition, but the gear lever has been snapped ! has anyone ever heard of this happening? or why, currently they have sleved the gear lever about 2 inchs above the gate , the owner has been quoted something silly to repair, as they say the gearbox etc has to be dropped? surely u can access the gearlever from inside the car??

anyone have any ideas about this prob?
thanks
peter

Yes, it was an issue with 2002 cars. They changed the materila for later 02-03 cars. I know of at least 3 cars that had that issue. Happened to one of mine, a 2002 "Fly Yellow" murice. It is correct that the tranny has to come out to replace it..

I have in stock, as they were aftermarket, stick shift stalks that were made of a stronger materila for the cars..they come on both the standard height version or the shorter height version.

If yours has not broke, these can easily be replaced with the aftermarket ones

Have tall and short for both the Murcie and the Diablo cars.

Knowing this repair strategy makes me never want a lambo. They had to know what they were doing when they designed it so this is basically a big **** you suckers. I'd be so pissed.

I am a lambo fan but this is just idiotic.

Why is this so "Idiotic"? The had a design problem in 02, fixed it and moved on..not like no other car in the world had a design flaw when they first came out. HOWEVER this does back up what I have always said, regardless if it is a Lambo, Ferrari, whatever..I WILL never buy a FIRST YEAR run new production car..second year run are always better as bugges are worked out under real driving situations.

AND if do to this in 2002 you would NEVER EVER buy a Lambo..will that is just plain "Idiotic" IMO
