Spied: 2012 Lamborghini Aventador Roadster!

Thanks to our contacts here on Teamspeed, we have already reported to you that the Aventador LP700-4 has already been "confirmed" as a Roadster by the United States EPA, and it is set to debut next week at 2012 Geneva Motor Show. Today our trusty Teamspeed spies in Northern Sweden prove 100% what we have been reporting with these slightly out-of-focus but revealing shots of the new Aventador Roadster.

Judging from the images the new roadster will feature a carbon fiber pop-off style roof, that will be lifted off and replaced manually, but never the less any doubters of this car seeing the light of day are now put to rest.

The Aventador roadster will be powered by the same monstrous 700 horsepower V-12 as the coupe, and the sprint to 100 km/h will only take you a mind-blowing 2.9 seconds with a top speed at 350 km/h.

 

Pictures are great, that's for sure! Wondering if they'll have something cooked up for Geneva! Can't wait!

 

Yes, this and most likely a production version of the Sesto Elemento

 

Hopefully the roof will have to be removed manually -> to save weight and that's what you want in Lambo's flagship IMO.

 

I hope it will be a one or two piece solid roof like in the K'segg or Carrera GT, instead of the old toupe looking thing that can't even stay on past 90MPH.

No, the Sesto Elemento is having a run of 20 production cars. The Gallardo replacement will be something different again.
