Lamborghini Gallardo test drive ends expensively
A test drive through inner Sydney, Australia, left a brand new Lamborghini Gallardo without a front wheel yesterday.
The car was being test driven by a prospective customer when he hit a barrier on the Macquarie St entry to the Cahill Expressway.
As you can see from the picture, the front wheel was ripped off and the bonnet crushed and crumpled. The car was insured, however we're told that the person testing the vehicle did not commit to a sale.
Andrew Smith, the managing director of Lamborghini Sydney managing director told News Limited that the customer was not speeding.
"It appears he panicked - these things happen," said Mr Smith. "It doesn't matter as long as no one was doing anything stupid or crazy, and no one was injured."
The thing is, a wheel doesn't just get ripped off under normal circumstances. Confirming this, local police will be investigating.
"Cars don't normally crash into barriers," Inspector Mihos of the Rocks Police said. "There are witnesses police are still to speak with and, pending those inquiries, we will determine what action is taken."
Charges could be forthcoming. So while the person in question didn't end up with a Gallardo payment plan coming out of their bank account, a hefty fine could be taking its place.

No it's plausible. He may not have been speeding per se, but maybe he took a corner too fast (but within the limit) and lost it.

Is that really panicking though? That's more like making a driver error misjudging the car or your own driving.
