Post Information on the next "New" Lamborghini.

Well I talked to someone today working in the factory, he assured me the next Lambo model wont be the estoque but it will be a SUV. Anyone have any info on the name?

Sorry if this is a repost or useless information just thought it might help.

Confirmed!

Next car from Lamborghini is an SUV.
Strong demand from China and other emerging economies.

"The odds are shortening on Lamborghini developing an SUV.
Demand from China and other emerging markets appears likely to tip the scales in favour of the soft-roader over a sedan version of the famous Italian marque.

Lamborghini chief executive Stephan Winkelmann told Drive a decision would be made on a third model by the end of the year, with a four-door sedan or soft-roader certain to be sold alongside the Aventador and Gallardo supercars.

Earlier this year, it was believed a production version of the Estoque four-door sedan, similar in concept to stablemate Porsche’s Panamera, was the frontrunner but history is on the side of a soft-roader, as Lamborghini sold an off-roader, the LN002, in the late 1980s and early ’90s.

The brand’s Asia-Pacific boss, Christian Mastra, says the SUV may make more sense because the booming new Pacific markets prefer that form of vehicle.

‘‘We haven’t asked our customers so much in terms of a personal question but the feeling, especially for the new markets, is SUV seems to be the majority,’’ he says. ‘‘If you think about India, China, Brazil, Mexico — all the new markets are more keen on this kind of car.’’

‘‘Especially as we might have also the heritage with that, if you think about the LN002. We’ll see, the decision has not been taken yet.’’

Porsche has had great success in China with both the Panamera sedan and Cayenne SUV, and China is about to overtake the US as Lamborghini’s biggest market. The Italian maker wants a more usable model to complement its hardcore sports cars.

‘‘The aim is to go for a car that you can use every day, not a fun car to use on Saturdays,’’ Mastra says.
But he adds the company is unlikely to go down the same track as Porsche by producing hybrid and diesel versions of the new car. Sports car purists have criticised Porsche for straying too far from its heritage with the diesel models.

‘‘We want to really stick to our DNA values of extreme and uncompromising,’’ he says. It will, however, be a genuine high-riding four-wheel-drive.

‘‘We have the heritage. I think we’re the most entitled to have an SUV, more than others,’’ he says. He says a turbocharged engine could be considered for the third model but not for its supercars, which will continue to be powered by V10 and V12 engines.

‘‘We don’t want to lose the soul of the ‘supersports’ cars,’’ he says."
