Lamborghini’s big news from Frankfurt 2011 is confirmation that the wild Sesto Elemento concept shown this time last year at Paris will be built. Just 20 of these super hardcore, super lightweight carbon technology showcases will be offered so if you’re keen, you’ll need to get your name down in a hurry.
There’s also another limited edition Gallardo, leaner, meaner and with a bigger wing than any that’s gone before. Inspired by Lamborghini’s one-make ‘gentleman racer’ championship, the Gallardo LP570-4 Super Trofeo Stradale is the most extreme Gallardo ever since the last most extreme Gallardo ever.
It keeps the four-wheel drive of the standard LP560-4 but weighs 154lb less, that giant wing the same as those on the race cars. Manually adjustable it can generate three times the downforce of the standard car but, more importantly, lets everyone know this is a Gallardo with a difference. Just 150 will be built.
