Anyone driven a manual LP560?
#21
I have a manual '06 SE, so it's not a 560, but probably close for comparison sake. Clutch is firm, a little stiffer than my '08 911S, but not nearly as stiff as a GT2/GT3, or something like a '60s muscle car. I love it, clutch feel is great, and as others have pointed out the shift gate is awesome.
If you're really enthusiastic about this, then the Hell with resale, get the car *you want* and *drive it*. Go used if you can find one, you'll save a lot!
There was a test of a Balboni 550-2 with a 6 speed, it was very fast, driver was very good. Might be a YouTube video of it, I think it was an American magazine.
I recently drove a 550-2 with paddles and loved everything about the car except the paddles, they ruined it for me. I know I'm in the minority here, but damn, the 6 speeds in the Gallardos are so nice, and add a lot more driver interaction (IMHO).
Only downside - a little tricky to heel/toe, I have to angle my toes to the right (instead of the opposite) and hit the accel with the top of my foot. But I'm used to it.
Roy Cats has had some 6 speed cars come through in the past year or two, he might chime in and/or be able to help source a used one, as could others who post on the board and deal in Lambos.

Just go with the Manual. If it's a good price then take it, hell you can probably bring the guy down a bit on price. The Manual is so much more fun to drive IMO. I haven't owned one, but I've driven plenty, both manual and e-gear and I would go with a manual hands down all the time. Plus the color is great too. What interior?

Get the manual.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I'm still unsure but what people are saying makes sense.
This is my thinking but will need to drive it to be sure! Going to drive it tomorrow lunch time, then an E-Gear car on Friday so will decide then.

Amazing! Clutch was light (don't know how it could be considered heavy), very involving as was expected and very easy to drive. Biting point was very very high, almost off the clutch.
Only real negative is literally no where to rest your left foot. You're either on the clutch or under it. Was close to buying it but was very aware I was caught up in the blur of driving the car. E-Gear tomorrow and final decision.

On my '06 there's a dead pedal but it is a few inches (maybe even 6") closer to the driver than on other cars - but I got used to it fast. On my Cobra there's no dead pedal and the clutch pedal is all the way to the left so I have to rest under the clutch. Tried that on the Gallardo but didn't feel right, so I just use the dead pedal close to the driver and got used to it. Did they remove that in the 560 models?

That really sucks because I know for a fact we have a dead pedal on the U.S. version. You would think that they would tweak the footwell enough on the right-hand drive cars to actually put it somewhere though. Shame on Lamborghini.
