A friend of mine in Modena (works for Maserati Corse) parked up in a little cafe on the SS12 yesterday (famous twisty road from Maranello to Bologna).

He was in a GranCabrio with some choice MC Stradale bits (apparently just a one off for a rich racer client of theirs), when in drives what he thinks is an LP560-4 Spyder with some tape over the badges and some test gear strapped on.

When the driver popped inside for the obligatory espresso and panini he had a sniff around, and is certain that this was only RWD - an LP550-2 Spyder.

Is there one coming? This, in manual would be an absolutely amazing car...

I would think not because Lambo should now be working on their replacement for the whole LP-560 line to compete with the 458 and 12C. I thought that the Performante was their sawn song like the 16m. Hopefully I am wrong though as I would love to see a RWD Lambo Spyder

 

Doubtful since the Gallardo replacement is due up. Could be them working on some things for the replacement though.

 

it would hardly be any work actually. i wouldn't be surprised since gallardo replacement is still a couple years out. lambo like to get a new variant of gallardo every year.

 

Those were my thoughts too. There's bugger all development work to do on this really. They have the RWD parts, just stick 'em in and away you go.
