I don't think he was related to John Lingenfelter from Indiana and i used to pass by that factory all the time when i was in there.

Rumor has it he made his fortune in the title industry. He sold his company for $xxxxx??. He bought LPE after John died. I am sure the only ones who know the real story are close individuals to him, but who cares....what an awesome collection.

 

170 cars? minus the 68 vettes (40%) that he probably didnt pay a dime for equals only about 100 cars. eh..

Hi!While the collection is private, there are events and fundraisers that are held at the warehouse regularly. Follow the Lingenfelter Collection on facebook to keep informed on when the events are taking place, who the event benefits, ticket information, etc. In Ken's own words, it is too cool to keep to yourself!

By my count, Ken currently owns..
914, 944 turbo, 935? slantnose turbo, 959, 996 turbo, carrera GT, and cayenne turbo GTS.
In August of 2008, he bought the performance company. He was a customer for years before that.

I can assure you, none of the cars were anywhere close to free. Some were bought with low miles used. Besides that, MSRP is the name of the game. You are right about one thing, it is cool!
