i was thinking the same thing. i really like the rear end but i still say the angles are too sharp. i think the reason it looks better in a darker color is because the sharp angles are less pronounced.
it also does look a bit too similar to the gallardo.

I was amazed with that also, I was thinking about early 2012 launch, not this year. I'll try to double-check some information.

Perhaps some clarification: The info on the U.S. EPA website shows a Lamborghini "834" and "834 Roadster" as certified for 2011. My guess is that they certified the drivetrain, and then stated that there will be coupe and roadster variants using the same engine, so the approval would apply to both. We can guess that maybe that doesn't necessarily mean that the roadster will make it here for 2011 (for what it's worth, the Mahindra trucks are approved for 2011 also, and we see how well that is going).
I was as surprised as anyone to see this information. Suffice to say that Lamborghini is being proactive so that the first deliveries will happen as soon as possible. I'm not really up to speed on the EPA certification process, but if I had to guess I would say that Lamborghini probably certified the Aventador drivetrain in a Murcielago mule; there's simply no way they got an Aventador into the U.S. without anyone having seen it or heard about it. Also, certification could have been done by an approved third party somewhere in the EU.
Lastly, there is the issue that some assert that the first Aventadors will actually be MY2012. So the information on the EPA website that I found is very interesting indeed, which is why I brought it to attention, but take it for what it's worth.
Ultimately we will have to wait and see until cars begin deliveries!
