Autoblog Report: More than 50 Lamborghini Aventadors already ordered in Singapore
#12
Holy crap. This thing is going to be such a hit. Singapore is particularly impressive with their COE stuff. Costs a fortune just to be allowed to own a car.
Do we have numbers from other markets?
If we think that Singapore and UAE account for maybe 10% of the world market and we're already at ~250 cars, we could be looking at 2500 orders worldwide (maybe optimistic, but worst case 1500). That's 4 years of normal Murci production!

While I think it will do okay in the US, I don't think the car will set the world on fire. So many new LP640 owners were burned by the huge depreciation that they won't find the jump between trade-in and retail on the new car worth the cost to move up. Lamborghini will have to build out a new customer base to make it a true success and given recent incredibly daft missteps in the US, I don't see them getting it together. I've talked to a lot of LP640 owners lately and only one is planning to buy as far as I know and I'm guessing that car will be flipped. I otherwise don't know too many people who are dying to get their hands on one. I also remain skeptical about the 50 cars in Singapore. Don't know why, but I just have my doubts.

And it is the "Monaco of Asia", meaning the ultra wealthy are there. Just compare the economy and growth of the Asian countries vs USA and you'll see that 50 cars is just the beginning.

Singapore is a very different market, especially today, than the US market. Singapore's economy growth this year ? 15%. US ?
