There's been 5 times more incredible cars in the last 10 years than in all of history.
+1. Can't wait to see the full version of this LP700-4 and as D55L said the C9 and new Enzo should be out of this world as well.

I remember I was a kid and I couldn't wait to see what cars would like in the year 2000 and so forth. It's now 2010 and the cars that are coming out are so rediculous. The automotive future is definitely upon us and I can only imagine what kind of tech will be in supercars 10-15 years from now. These manufacturers go at great lengths to make their customers happy. The performance of these cars just get so much better and better.

The "F70" will be an evolution of the enzo, the LP700 will be a complete revolution. Ferrari will be hard pressed to top it. They'd have to let go of some of their fundamental principles.
you sir make a GREAT point!!!

Hmm I have no clue what you are talking about. The F70 will be a completely new car just like the LP700-4 is a completely new car. If the F70 is an evolution of the Enzo, then the LP700-4 is an evolution of the Murci.
Imo what you are saying is bullcrap, they will both revolutionize the concept of hypercars.

From the article:
Slowing things down a bit for a parade lap of photography reveals the new transmission to be no match for the shift smoothness of a dual-clutch tranny. The torque interruption is always noticeable and shifts are slower in these other modes (plus they occur automatically at redline even when manual shifting is selected in either of these modes - Corsa lets you bounce off the limiter).

Count me unsurprised.
Apart from the clutch though this car really seems to be amazing

What I mean is that the Murcielago is very old tech, even when it came out. And the LP700 is cutting edge. Whereas the Enzo was cutting edge when it came out so there's less room to improve on the general "platform". Yes I know all the gubbins will be different, but Ferrari's basic design philosophy hasn't changed.

Lamborghini simply have crazy R&D momentum at the moment. When the economy went south and sales plummeted, instead of making cuts they started dumping heaps more money into R&D.

The gearbox was designed to be rougher. They were adamant about having a "lamborghini feel" which meant hard shifts. It is in no way technologically backwards though. They have developed an entirely new shifting technology that's faster than the vast majority of double-clutch gearboxes, weighs far less, and has a lower center of gravity.

win-win-win in my book

Let's put it this way. People are saying the LP570 is based on a 7 year old platform that now feels a bit old. Granted this is true, it's very simple in design. And yet I have yet to see a head-to-head test were it didn't beat the "absolutely incredible / as good as it gets" 458. Lamborghini's optimization of old tech seems to be on a performance par with Ferrari's current offerings now. And Lamborghini is only now introducing it's game changer which will I think will be a hard car to beat. Ferrari will need to change, but I'm afraid its heritage and mentality is starting to hold it back.

^^^ I don't think so based on what I know at the moment.

Not good news for all DCT crowd here - New Enzo will likely have similar ISR gearbox, this decision could be done because of this unit being compact and light.
