* As you know Lamborghini S.p.A has now built more than 1000 Aventadors and we know that the car has a 8 year life cycle.
* Lamborghini says that they only have 8 molds for the CF Chassis and the molds are only good for 500 times. That means 4000 units.
But do we believe that they will only build 4000 ? No I don't think so.
They build almost 4100 of the Murcielago. And the demand for the Aventador is MUCH stronger. The factory as it is now can not follow the markets demand. And they have done a lot of stuff to optimize production all ready...
So they questions is... how many will be produced ?

I was told to keep quiet for now about the rest of the details....
and the the Swedish Auto Motor & Sport suddenly put it on print. So here it is:
MY2013
* Updated gearbox software.
* Exterior Carbon Option.
* New option wheels, Dione. 20 x9 (255/20ZR20) and 21x13 (355/25ZR21). Available in silver, titanium and black.
* Stiffer springs and retuned dampers that will deliver a more comfortable driving experience.
* New / revised instrument cluster. It enlarges the numbers on the speedometer.
* Multi-cylinder displacement system that deactivates six-cylinders when they aren't needed.
The system will reportedly be standard and paired with engine start/stop technology. When the driver hits the accelerator, the engine will react in just 180 milliseconds. Interestingly, it will be powered by a capacitor instead of a battery which saves approximately 3 kg (7 lbs).
Thanks to all these changes, the Aventador will reportedly average 16.0 L/100km (14.7 mpg US / 17.6 mpg UK) with CO2 emissions of 370 g/km. This compares to the current model's rating of 17.2 L/100km (13.7 mpg US / 16.4 mpg UK) with CO2 emissions of 398 g/km.

You could go for a chrome red wrap ... that would be very special looking, but perhaps a bit over the top.

The 50th anniversary logo contains the number "50" above the word "anniversary", using the clean, essential lines typical of the distinctive style of Lamborghini's super sports cars. Lamborghini 50th Anniversary Grand Tour
The celebrations to be held in Italy and abroad throughout 2013 will culminate in May, during the same week in which, 50 years ago, the company was incorporated and the inaugural foundation stone was laid at its factory in Sant'Agata Bolognese.
The "Lamborghini 50th Anniversary Grand Tour", expected to be the biggest Lamborghini rally in history, will run the length of Italy, and will be attended by Lamborghini owners and dealers from all over the world. From May 7-11, 2013, more than 1,200 km of Italy's roads will roar with the thrum of hundreds of Lamborghinis. From the unforgettable historic GTs to the futuristic super cars of today, the cars will arrive from every corner of the globe to parade through some of Italy's most beautiful cities.
On Tuesday, May 7th, the cars will gather in Milan, Italy's capital of fashion and design, leaving the next day for Forte dei Marmi, one of the most exclusive resorts on the Tyrhennian coast. On Thursday, May 9th, they will set off towards Rome, with a triumphant evening arrival in the city center
On Friday, May 10th, the cars will depart towards Bologna, via Orvieto, arriving at Emilia Romagna's capital during the evening. Saturday, May 11th will mark the closing day of the celebrations: the cars will head off in procession from Bologna towards Lamborghini's famous factory in Sant'Agata Bolognese, where participants will visit the historic museum, the production facility, as well as enjoy other Lamborghini experiences. A gala dinner held at the factory will end a thrilling day packed with events and entertainment. At each stop, Lamborghini fans will be able to admire the cars.
The anniversary website - www.lamborghini50.com - will go live on August 17th, 2012. Help for Emilia Romagna
The many events organized worldwide in celebration of the anniversary will also be characterized by a high level of solidarity and public conscience. Lamborghini will donate 10% of the proceeds of sponsorship revenue to a fund established to help rebuild religious, social and cultural centers damaged by the devastating earthquakes that hit Emilia Romagna in May this year. The donation is a tribute to the native region of Lamborghini, whose international strength remains despite the challenges.

A number of local councils have already decided to provide support for the event: Sant'Agata Bolognese, Bologna, the City of Rome and Forte dei Marmi.

Many customers did not get their car before the factory holidays, and the supply will continue to be delayed for months to come (see the quote over).
This means that the MY2013 will not be delivered before around December / January.

Just spoke to Lamborghini a few days ago. It seems like many Aventador deliveries are late due to the eartquake in May.
I am going back to the factory in few weeks time, let us see what the status will be by then.
And the demand is still VERY strong. The above will of course affect the roadster introduction.
