Here's something interesting... I was poking around on the U.S. EPA website this morning. Here you will find a page showing the ceritfication data for cars to be sold in the U.S. For year 2011, click on "Certified Vehicle Models". You will open up an Excel spreadsheet with all of the cars certified by the EPA for model year 2011.
Look at line 1265 on this spreadsheet; listed is a "Lamborghini 834 Coupe". Isn't LP834 the internal code for the Murcielago replacement?
This can't be the 2011 Gallardo, because that appears on line 174 of this spreadsheet. Also notice that the 834's certificate number contains the number 6.5, which is the new car's engine displacement (likewise, the Gallardo's certificate contains the number 5.2).
As far as I can conclude, according to this file, the Murcielago repalcement has already been certified by the U.S. EPA! Even more surprising, the sheet lists an 834 Roadster!
