I just watched it on DVR and geez what a mismatch. That GT ran off on that Gallardo.

I guess the TT-Gallardos (from anyone) would have been a much better comparo.

Battle of the Supercars is quite horrible to be honest. They're constantly using cars tuned to different levels(ford gt running 15psi vs gallardo with bolt-ons, sharkwerks 3.9 gt3 rs vs 430 with bolt-ons, GTR vs Tuned 997 turbo both on horrible 20" rims), horrible trash talk, traceys driving is questionable(idk if its him or the cars), etc. "Speed" channel doesn't deserve their name, it should be the Nascar and some other $h!t sprinkled in channel

Yeah but this time they pitted a Ford GT with pulley tune and xpipe, mods which yield over 600hp TO THE WHEELS, against a gallardo with silly COSMETIC bolt ons... That wing is like an airbrake... the hood and bumper do what? make it faster? The seats will save some weight, and it has a carbon airbox, which on my Gallardo..the Gruppe M Carbon airbox on the dyno gained......1hp Then they go to say the gallardo weighs 2900lbs.. ya for sure..maybe after they took the motor out.

At the 1 mile event in Vegas we were trapping a bone stock Gallardo Spider @ over 160.....

Agreed. I really like Tanner Foust, and I tend to view these shows he's involved in as kinda like watching Drew Barrymore's career. Supercars Exposed was ET, and right now we're going through the 8-year old alcoholic stage. BotS is just incredibly poorly thought out, pitting sometimes mismatched cars against each other in fairly pointless battles (if we do a standing mile and a 60-130, are those really telling us anything meaningfully different from one another? b is a subset of a), with self-consciously banal trash talk, godawful hosting (I've lost track of the obviously incorrect things that come out of that guy's mouth). I was pretty agnostic on Paul Tracy before this, and now that's turned into unmitigated distaste. He's just an aggressive little troll.

As for the US Top Gear, time will tell if that will be his Charlie's Angels, or the rather more obvious Riding in Cars with Boys.

On a side note, it just seems like a bad idea to try and recreate Top Gear for the US. The Australian version is so much a copycat that it has a knock-off franchise feel, like when the great Pizza place downtown opens another location in the well-heeled part of town, and it's never quite as good.

Instead of trying to live up to TG, let's just focus on not living down to the offerings from Car & Driver / Motor Trend.
