That car was quite nearly a death trap. Who in their right mind at FIA put a stamp on a series running cars with obviously flawed restraint systems, no fire systems, evidently stock fuel systems (tank burst, etc)?

That should have been a walk-away incident.

EDIT : english Version Lamborghini Murcielago Crash

and the latest crash is covered by him as well
That site has been around a long time. The guy doesn't have much credibility given that he brings in accidents that were nothing more than stupidity on the driver's part and tries to blame the factory in an attempt to support his argument. This is like the guy who used the wrecked exotic site and concluded that a lot of Lamborghinis crash by simply looking at the "L" list and not the "F" list. Lamborghini will sort out the accident and try and figure out what went wrong.

I know of one bad Murcielago accident where the driver simply fell asleep behind the wheel at a high speed. The factory was all over that car trying to study the results of an impact. They take this stuff seriously.

I have no doubt that the factory will be knee deep into investigation of the crash. I'm amazed that it was Alfred that ran out to get the driver out. Where was the rest of the safety crew to do that? What a horrific crash.

Wow, hope the driver is OK. I amazed on how long to took the safe crew to get to him.

I agree Tommy. Anyone can get a hard-on about any manufacturer about just about anything and post a Blog. I didn't look at the site as I'm sure if someone wants to they could write the same about Ferrari, Porsche etc.

My fear is about the racing side. I agree tho FIA isn't the grand daddy of safety it seems something has to be looked at with the Lambo's in this case.

Horrible accident. Anyone see the Indy Car crash with Simona De Silvestro on Saturday? Car and driver were engulfed in flames and not one of the emergency trucks had a fire extinguisher. Instead, they took what seemed an eternity to try and pull a hose out of rescue trucks bumper. One of worst acts of dumbness I've seen in a while.

There is a theory that death by accident always reaches equilibrium, so as cars become safer, risky behavior also increases to match the same death rate as before. It's almost as if cars have become safer so responses to accidents have become less timely on the race track. I don't know but in looking at the Super Trofeo accident, that crew didn't look trained at all. They were far more concerned with getting the fire out than the driver. Number one rule in burns is stop the heat, first thing you do is deal with the driver and hit that area and nothing else first. That's first-aid 101; check, CARE, call.

At first,I did not like what he did as well....but then I went back to the site and discovered that the driver reports were very often similar and that the many accidents resembled in the way they occured...

I'm somwhat neutral in that matter...I don't say he's talking BS nor am I convinced that Lamborghini has problems with technical devices in certain models...
