Our day with the new Superleggera
So thanks to Manfried @ Beverly Hills Lambo we got to spend the day with several Superg's. We arrived at las Vegas Motor Speedway around noon and proceeded to have a nice lunch.. Next we moved on to a presentation of the cars and an orientation. Pretty neat display of some of the car parts and pieces along with an AWESOME grey Murci SV. Next stop we strapped into the cars. Each session consisted of 6 laps, and if you got someone in front of you who was slow...you were screwed. Thankfully in our group we had Kane00, Deuce, Fastlane and myself. First thing I noticed was that the cars were running hot. My GTT nor any other G Ive ever driven has ever registered over 90 on the temp gauge . These cars were somewhere around 110.. I choose to drive in Corsa mode and the car felt good. The tires were already in sad shape as the day before the dealers were able to run the cars allday. You head out behind the factory test drivers in a Murci lp640. Everything about the superg felt good, except the tires were mush. The brakes were perfect. Great feel, zero fade. To be honest I didnt feel any difference in performance from a reg Lp560, the shifting felt the same. As a whole, the car didnt feel much different. Im certain the car is quicker, but with extreme temps these cars were not running @ optimum levels.
We wanted to strap our cameras to the car but were not allowed. However lambo had installed some sort of telemetry system in each car. The cars had 2 cameras, one pointing outward, the other on us, and we all recieved USB Flash memory cards with our videos. Pretty neat system, seems to work sort of like the new Vbox setup that shows a dash display, rpms etc. We have to download some software to get the videos. The cost of this system being thrown around was $8500. At this point with over an hour of us attempting to download the software to play back the videos, frustration is setting in. Keeps saying file not supported and its quite frankly pissing me off. It shows the steering wheel, all the info but will not play!!! WTF
The visual impact inmo of the car is what stands out.. Its inmo the most incredible looking car in its class. Absolutely love everything about it. Perfection. We had 2 white cars, and 2 yellow. My biggest suprise was the new yellow. It is beautifull! Its a deeper shade of yellow. With 90% certainty, for the first time ever I would have choosen the yellow one over the white.. It absolutely rocked!
So all in all the car is as usual a terrific ride.. Inmo, it is miles away from an early Gallardo, however if you currently own a Lp560 I dont think youll be falling over yourself trying to get to the dealer to get a new car based on its performance. The interior and exterior however is a different story. I know that recently there was some talk of a sub 3.0 sec 0-60 and 6.7sec 0-100. The way these cars were running today there is no way those were remotely achievable. On a side note, its funny how much the TTG spoils you. Nothing feels fast.
We will upload pics and videos as we get to them. The best video we need is from this usb and I hope we can extract it!

Sounds like you had a truly great time there Allan. The main verdict on new SL is similar from almost everyone - great performing car, but not that much greater to make you run to the dealer for the order.
I really like the new yellow color on the SL in first vid, looks way better than all yellow shades I have seen so far.
