Italian police Lamborghini Gallardo written off in crash with Seat

Before & After Photos

"In a blow to the pride taken by Italy's police in their two most glamorous patrol vehicles, one of the cars was clipped by a Seat as the more modest car was edging its way out of a petrol station near Cremona. The impact sent the exotic police car flying into a line of parked cars.

The low-slung Gallardo ended up with one of the parked cars on its roof, buckling the front of the supercar and leaving it beyond use. Lamborghini donated the two cars, capable of reaching speeds of more than 200mph and accelerating from 0-62mph in just four seconds, to the police in 2004. They have since been used to help patrol the country's roads where speeding motorists contribute to almost 5,000 road deaths a year."

It looks like there are some differences between the first Gallardo pictures and the wrecked one:

Front bumper looks different
The number 113 doesn't appear on the drivers side rear quarter panel of both vehicles

Strange...

That happened in November last year...

I do see the 113 on the one car and not the other... The "unveiling" picture also shows a license plate of F8743 and the wrecked car has a license plate of E8379... Not to mention the wrecked car has no graphics along the bottom of the rocker panels and front bumper where both of the other cars do. Perhaps they had more than one? It appears the pics could be of 3 different cars?

What a total loss for the LP570-4 Polizia. Idk how Italians can comprehend the concept of speed when they are in pursuit of a suspect.

It says right in the story that they were given two. Look harder Mr. Holmes.
