HELP! Need advice on Gallardo purchase
Hello Everyone,
I am very close to purchasing a 2008 Gallardo Coupe with 5,000 miles.
The car has a year left in warranty, 1 owner, and seems very clean cosmetically. The problem I have found is that the car had a warranty service done in Nov 09 for an oil leak (broken oil filter support), then returned to the dealership 3 months later (Jan 2010) for the same problem (oil filter came off), then returned a week later for a check engine light that was set off by a faulty exhaust pressure tube. After that the car was traded in and listed for sale. Should I be worried that these problems will continue once I take delivery? Would this be a "deal-breaker" type of pattern or red flag? Or is this common type stuff with these exotics. I have never owned a Lambo before so this is all new to me.
Your inputs are all greatly appreciated!
Thanks

This would dissuade me from buying the car unless the seller heavily discounted it to make up for future costs.
I really think you can do better.
Good luck with it however it goes brother!

One good point is that these cars do have routine issues like this no matter how perfect they are.
It is part of owning an exotic car.
If your gut tells you to make the deal, then do it.
I want pics on the day of purchase - including the excrement eating grin!

If the car is in the LA area, I'd have Grant Johnson of Lamborghini Newport Beach take a look at it along with the service records. Grant will give you the straight scoop on the car. Lamborghini does a great job standing behind their products. At times it's slow to get warranty work solutions approved, especially if it's something they have not seen before. In the end they always seem to go the extra mile.
