Have to declare the GoPro HD a definite success
I got a chance to try the new GoPro HD this morning when a few of our local breakfast bunch braved the remains of the snow and salt to take on one of our favorite mountain roads. Conditions weren't optimal by any means (lots of salt on the road still and some snow melt runoff, pea gravel, etc.), but given that we had not been able to go up this road for about 3 months due to the weather, the sunshine today was too much of a temptation and we decided to try it. Given the conditions we weren't pushing it, but weren't poking along either. The audio pickup on the GoPro is not very sensitive (which is my only real criticism of it--otherwise it rocks, especially for the price), so multiply whatever you can hear on the video by 2-3 and that would be closer to actual. BTW I'm in the M3 following an LP560 and GT2--I left the G at home this time but am looking forward to getting some footage in it too soon. Oh and you can sharpen the resolution by clicking on the box at the bottom of the player and changing the playback to HD.

Do it! I know nothing at all about this stuff but spent a few minutes reading the paperwork that came with it, went to WalMart and bought an SDHC card, and stuck the thing on my sunroof glass this morning and took off. The price on this outfit makes it an absolute no-brainer. Thanks again EVS!

Not sure exactly what you mean as I have no prior experience with any other unit, but the camera will take up to a 32 gig SDHC card, and as far as individual file sizes I noticed that during one long stretch it apparently saved the file at around 3.8 gig and immediately started saving another one, so I gather if you keep recording continuously it automatically breaks up the files into 3.8 gig sized segments until your card is full.
