From worldcarfans:
"Lamborghini has released a new video to support their "Ad Personam" program. The plan, which translates from Latin as "To the person," offers customers the opportunity to select from a variety of exclusive options.
The options include an extensive variety of choice in exterior color, leather tone, and stitching hue. As the video points out, one thing that will not be changed is Sant'Agata, Bolognese, where each hand built Lamborghini is still assembled.
Lamborghini makes Ad Personam available, for a fee, to those customers who need an extra level of exclusivity. Launched at NAIAS in 2008, the only limiting factor to the options is the customer's available cash."

You have been able to for a long time however I am sure that Lamborghini is trying to make the program better known and in doing so attract another group of buyers.
In the USA most cars are pre-ordered by a dealer with the options/features they anticipate the buyer will want as such the program has been used more by the dealer when compared too the buyer.
Now with the 2010 Murcielago's being all slated as built to order I suspect that this program will be used much more by the end user when compared to the dealer.

If I had the cash and wanted a new lambo/ferrari/etc, I would definitely order one to spec and not just take one off the dealer lot, no way they spec it the way I would want. Well, unless you spec'd it because I like yours
