Hesperus, I'm calling BS on this. No way a 'stock' Z06 should pull a RWD Murcie in any gear. Please tell me there is an unknown variable.

 

This is what it says in the description: "Lambo has: - exhaust - RWD conversion Z06 has: - exhaust - headers - K&N both cars running stock ECU's "

Nice race, the driver of the Z06 should modulate the throttle in first gear though and his gear shifts could be much quicker.

Also, an ECU tune will yield at least an extra 20 whp.

the 'vette is running 3-yr old original GY runflats, so that helps explain the woeful lack of traction. that plus i'm basically totally hopeless at drag racing (though this was obviously from a roll not a dig).

as mentioned in the description of the video, the Z06 has got a Corsa exhaust, American Racing Headers, and a K&N filter.

i would LOVE to get the car tuned, but with only two Z06's in the country, i don't want to be a guinea pig on the dyno here. and because our conditions (temp, humidity and most of all FUEL) are so different than in the U.S., i don't want to risk just slapping on a tune done for the 'States.

its possible the Murcie was down on power, but this same car-- before the RWD job-- destroyed my GT3 and walked away from a 997 Turbo (both stock) in similar roll on situations, so it seems healthy enough.

props to GM, the LS7 is quite an engine!
