It's because there are so many colors and they are rather distinct. In Lamborghini there are several colors that are green but all are extremely different from each other. The same thing happens with my Phantom, yet with my Lexus, there is only one black so just calling it that covers it.

In fact using BMW as an example does use unique names; most of their blues are named as associated with tracks/events etc suxh as Lemans Blue etc.
