Lightbulb Murcielago successor and next Lambo halo car

This time I have collected rumors about upcoming Murcielago successor, now codenamed as a JOTA and Lamborghini next halo car to compete with Enzo successor, codenamed as URUS. The launch of JOTA could happen late next yeat, as one member posted here information from his dealer some time ago. With URUS probably coming some time after JOTA and will be much more unique than Reventon, which was only rebodied LP640.

First of all, here are rumored specs of JOTA:

CF chassis with aluminium subframes, CF/aluminium body, will be aproximatly 150 kg lighter than current LP670-4 SV, expect JOTA grow a little bit in wheelbase for better comfort, styling made by Walter de Silva will be absolutely unique and extreme. Engine is rumored to be brand new 6.0 litres V12 unit with direct injection and dry sump oiling system, estimated power is rumored to be aproximately 720-730 hp for base version. Transmission is rumored to be next generation of e-gear with 7-speeds or newest DCT made specially for this car. Car will feature absolutly bespoke interior developed from clean sheet of paper. Pricing of the car is rumored to remain at same levels as current LP640. Roadster version coming year or year and half years later.

But the most interesting news are about so called URUS programm of developing halo car to compete with Enzo successor. Here are some rumored specs of the future model:

This future model is rumored to be built on JOTA platform, but all components will be completely reworked - maximum weight saving, but not riced out looks and interior, reworked chassis for weight saving, full CF body, bespoke interior, styling is rumored to be the most extreme ever made by Lambo, combining the best clues or recent project, such as Reventon and Miura concept, but the tech will be moved forward and will feature active aerodynamics and will feature new stuff from recent CF study programm. Engine is rumored to be reworked JOTA engine with aproximately 750-770 hp. Together with light weight it will be truly Lamborghini halo car, while the Reventon was more like a concept and desing study

All those rumors I have put together from different sources and not being an Lambo-insider myself, I can not say that these information is correct or that sources are really credible, I can not also split the real news from wishfull thinking. I have just put rumors together here. What the Murcielago successor will be in reality, we need to wait and see, but I really hope that it will as good as rumored.

Thanks for the news, the only thing missing in future spec is RWD! Less weight is definitely welcome!

I hope at least the URUS will be RWD even tho it will be a challenge putting all that power down on the road with such a light body. Either way I hope the design will blow us all away

This is shaping up to be a BRILLIANT car. I am keeping my fingers crossed that it can compete with the LP670-4 SV in the looks department

It sounds really interesting and something that is going to be way over priced.

Some fresh news I have heard about Jota/Urus program.

Jota V12 engine is rumored to have displacement of 6.0 litres and will be good for about 700 hp, engine is rumored to recieve direct injection, engine will also be higher revving than current V12 and more efficient. Engine is developed to pass 2012 emission regulations and to take the competition with Ferrari and McLaren engines. Car is rumored to be more efficient than SV, not to repeat mistake with Murcielago, many considered it was not so good as the last Diablos, especially Diablo GT. Aluminium/CF chassis, CF body, new innovative interior, brand new design from the clean sheet of paper.

The most interesting and secret part of this program is the Urus, I really do not know if these sources could be trustworthy, but rumors are spreading around that the next Lamborghini halo car will not be just a rebodied V12 model, but completely reworked unique car on the Jota platform with new body, reworked engine, wide use of CF active aerodynamics. Car is rumored to be first Lamborghini halo car with main target not just to show the design concept, but to compete with next halo car from Ferrari, now known to be codenamed as FX70.
