That Lambo was HOT!

EDIT: My bad. This is the yellow car, not the orange car that is the topic of this thread. Apparently blew an oil line at 230mph.

MiniD told me about this forum. I just browse around and read, great site. Just wanted to quote what the owner had to say about the event and such from another forum. Connor need to let him know about TS, I think he'd enjoy this site. Oh and the pics posted is how the car looks now.
Yeah, I took my orange Lambo to the mile event this year. For it to be tech'd for the 190+ class it had to have a parachute, cage w/ harnesses, and fire system. The parachute looks sick on it and was custom installed using existing holes, etc so no drilling or anything. The cage looks clean and is behind the factory seats.
I had never been to a mile event before so this was all new to me. I had a blast. My 4th pass I ran a 241.63mph, which was second only to SW who ran a 243mph. We weren't necessarily going for the overall record, but at least a Lamborghini record. Technically SW is in the same class we're in, but his car is pretty gutted. We are running full weight. After running the 241, I knew the car had a little more in it, but I had to leave right then to catch my flight out of Houston. I was just happy to run over 240. The next highest mph car was a TTViper I believe than ran a 228.
The car felt very good at that speed and was still pulling HARD! It pulls as hard in 6th as it does in 2nd. I was still being pinned in my seat at the mile mark. Nobody has ever run 240+ and not used the chute...gotta love the 8 piston Lambo brakes.
In the past 2 months, for preparation of the mile, we replaced the AEM w/ a Motec setup, upgraded the throttle bodies, did extensive headwork, changed the gearing in the tranny (all w/ custom hardened gears), custom head studs, and some other things. We dynoe'd the car at 30lbs of boost and made 1443rwhp. For the 241.63 pass we were running 34lbs of boost and should have been in the 1550rwhp range.
It is now the 4th fastest street car to ever run in the mile and the only full weight car. The other 3 were gutted cars, but run in the streetcar class because interior is not something they class. The record is 246.2 right now, which was made back in March. My car still has the factory heated electric seats, navigation, rear back up camera, 6 disc changer, front air lift system, etc. The only thing removed from the car for the mile was the floormats, which was a requirement.
That speed in very intense and goes by fast. This is not a prepped track, but a normal asphalted runway too. Glad to be home....in one piece!

Thanks again for the props everybody. It is pretty crazy at those speeds, but the car felt incredibly smooth, moreso than I imagined it would. My very first pass was 217mph on lower boost, as I wanted to get a feel for the car at those speeds. The car had a slight vibration above 180-190mph. When I came back I wanted the rear wheels/tires switched over the Toyo Proxes R888 that I usually run on the street in the rear. We had drag radials on the back for that first pass. We kept that boost level where it was and switched the rear wheels/tires and I made another pass on Saturday morning, my second pass. It was 231.2mph. The car felt WAY better and smoother. Now that the car was feeling smooth, we decided to turn it up a bit. My last 2 passes were at 34lbs of boost. I missed 3rd on the 3rd pass and still ran 238.2mph, so I knew if I get a cleaner run, we'd break 240. We tried again on Sunday morning, same boost. That run was very clean and that's when I popped off the 241.63mph pass. It was still pullng like crazy too. You really realize how fast you're going when you hit the 3/4 mile marker and the 1 mile marker comes just seconds later!.....literally. You're actually covering the 1/4 mile in 3.75 seconds at that speed!
A stock Lambo actually ran right before me, so I got to compare what one does in the standing mile. I found out it had a 80hp tune on it, which put it at around 600hp at the crank. At 600hp, it ran the standing mile at 166.5mph. That is where a lot of 550-600hp cars where and that was the normal speed for that power. A TTZ06 hit 200mph n the mile. We were at 1,600rwhp on that pass. It takes a crapload of power, moreso than some might realize, to reach those speeds w/in a mile. Another thing to keep in mind is that this is not a prepped track, like a dragstrip. This is just an asphalted runway, the exact same surface on the street, so you wouldn't see crazy 1/4 mile times because traction is a big issue w/ a lot of power.
I had a lot of fun doing it. I'll go back next year, but the car is retired. It did flawless. I did my thing and I'll just enjoy it on the street now. The car has nothing else to prove, nor do I. It might be at SEMA now on display, since it broke a record. I might drive for someone else next year, so I will go for that, and to just hang out. If any of you ever get the opportunity to go, it's a whole new world of racing, and you'll see some badass cars. Thanks again.

I said 'closer to' and I meant to type 3, not 4. But oh well. No idea why this even matters. I simply thought the picture was nice and asked for more/others, and noted that the original picture was not from this event. Duly noted: I guess you don't take compliments so well.
