Roy says: "Order one today!!"
On Saturday July 11th, 2009 I had the privilege of attending a "tech Session" at an Authorized Lamborghini Dealer. The session was in regards to the newly released LP670-4. In 3 VERY VERY important words........I say; "ORDER ONE TODAY!!"
The session was presented by Paolo Feraboli, Ph.D. Professor of Aircraft Structures and Materials Director at University of Washington as well as Automobili Lamborghini Advanced Composite Structures Laboratory Dept. Lamborghini, in Assoc with the U of W Lamborghini has contracted them for this cutting edge technology along with their work on the local Boeing Planes using a lot of the same space age materials. Lamborghini will be having an event here in Seattle in October sometime at the U of W campus to dedicate a new wing of this Dept for Lamborghini and the continued study of advance products.
It became quite clear early on that this was a special super advanced product, the LP670-4. The event lasted about two hours and was packed with mind blowing information that can only leave you asking yourself...HOW FAST can I get my hands on one of these TOP of the FOOD CHAIN cars!
We were advised that the new product on these cars were tested in 180 rapid changing outside forces, such as from extreme heat to extreme cold. It was interesting to learn that this basic car has two test cars out in the real world, just sitting for two years to see what happens in the environment. One is located in Antarctica and one in a Desert. They are constantly monitored to aid in the advance of this material.
The entire body of the LP670-4, less paint, doors and any other substance, just the raw body ONLY weighs 112lbs!! Down from 192Lbs in earlier versions of the Murcie. The car is further reduced in overall weight from previous years by over 200lbs. Additional weight savings of approx 52lbs can be had with the option of a 6 speed manual gear box over the E-gear. The small wing again is less weight and gives the car a few more top end MPH. The LP670-4 is also ENTIRELY glued together with super aircraft type adhesives, doing away with any clamps bolts, shims etc to attach the body to the frame. This method also makes for 99.99% perfect finishes with no bubbles, bows are imperfections in the stunning lines of this car.
On the matter of speed, the car is ONLY limited to its top speed due to its Aero design to meet DOT required safety standards at the 212MPH threshold, A total different standards required above that speed and not worth going into that abyss with DOT. Their tests of these cars found the 0-62 to be closer to 3.0 3.1 consistently and reaching top speeds closer to 230MPH. Lamborghini has embraced the fact that a bigger engine and more HP is not the answer with all the upcoming green laws. It has chosen to follow the path of least resistance.."Less weight means faster speed". They have definitely done that with this new LP670-4.
To provide for an even more nibble and tight control car, the LP670-4 had design structures and new material used that cause it to be 13% more rigid than the 2009 LP640, giving it even a more desired control and exciting driving experience. The reduction in weight was also found in its new exhaust design, that provides maximum performance. The rear area of the exhaust and tail end use a special paint mixed with other products to keep from heat damage of this monster of a motor through its exhaust outlet for the first time. This exhaust is so advanced there is no need at ALL to change to any after market exhaust once you drive this car, it just does not get any better.
The new materials used in this car were so advanced that Lamborghini was able to produce the doors and the roof in this material and PASS all safety and DOT requirement's. The complexity of all the items to be added to the doors made this option cost prohibitive at this time...but rest assured, they are working on it for the future. This product has reached an advanced reliability stage that it no longer cracks as old CF and Glass product did. It now can be dented, and still pop back. If damaged it can be easily repaired at a FRACTION of cost in past products used on previous cars. This makes for both lower cost in case of damage to an owner as well as confidence of a product that can be re-vitalized easily.
The materials are "baked" in the 250 degree range with the exception of a few isolated pieces in the engine bay area cured at 450 for un-questionable stability and long term use. The CCB brakes are a new combination as well..using a layering process that is cooked at over 2500 degrees into its ceramic state, making again for a braking system that is both lighter and top in its class of the Exotic car world. The newer system also adds to longer use and customer satisfaction with lower maintenance costs.
For the Murcie line as we have know it since 2002, this is the end. A end that is fitting with Lamborghini's past of always saving the BEST for last, as in the Miura SV, the Diablo 6.0VT SE and now with the BEST of the BEST in this stunning example of complete
newly advanced and engineered total piece of machine that will cause for anyone to smile from ear to ear every minute they operate this car. With a relatively reasonable base price of $450,000.00 USA funds, this car is a no brainier. You MUST get one into your collection with out hesitation.
The first SV cars have already been delivered to customers in Europe, UK and other non USA countries with RAVE revue. With the first USA retail customer cars arriving this week, your time is running short. With only 350 produced world wide and in the neighborhood of less than half to the USA...DON'T WAIT Order today!! You may just have luck on your side and still be able to secure a place in history with the ownership of this car.
Anyone needing more information is welcome to contact me. I can also assist you in your Order process via an Authorized Lamborghini Dealership in the USA.
