1996 Mazda Miata
White exterior/black cloth. Power windows and cruise control. 55,xxx miles. I purchased the car with 38,900 miles out of Massachusetts on Labor Day weekend 2010. In the 2 years and 16k miles of ownership I’ve done a lot of maintenance (some listed below but all noted with date/mileage completed in the document below). I belong to the local Miata club in CT and between them and the local Mazda dealer anything the car has needed it received. The car has a clean CT title and a clean Carfax report.
Car was a daily driver from the day I bought it. Served me faithfully and never left me on the side of the road. The car has a Moddidiction Type II shift knob (very similar to the Type R knobs) in full stainless steel; this along with the Ford Motorcraft synthetic oil in the transmission makes for a smooth shifting transmission even in the dead of winter. To round things out a Redline goods faux alcantra shift boot was installed during the transmission service. The rest of the interior is stock except for the center console and part of the dash (tombstone) is painted white along with the seat belt tower brace. I’ve removed the sun visors but am pretty sure they are in my parent’s garage.
The car was just detailed in the beginning of August (2 step compounding) and the water still beads very well. To light the way I’ve upgraded the headlights to Bosch H4’s from the FlyinMiata group buy. This is a huge improvement over the stock lights.
I have two sets of wheels. First set are OEM Hollow Spokes with a bad black paint job wrapped in Bridgestone Blizzak WS60’s with 2 seasons of use on them. Second is a set of DForce 5 spoke wheels painted flat black, 15x7’s and wrapped in 205/50/15 Bridgestone RE11’s with 2 seasons on them and still showing plenty of life left.
The hardtop on the car is from an early gen NA with no defroster and no headliner. It was a gift from a coworker after he picked up a Miata for himself. The top was originally red but repainted Montego Blue (blue/green). When not using the hardtop there is a new (installed when I bought the car) black zippered Robbin’s replacement top. The window is clear with some light scratching. The rainrail was replaced at the same time.
The front end (bumper) was just repainted due a small parking lot incident. The bumper was not replaced and the paint is perfect now (done at Mazda of Milford’s body shop). A new emblem was not installed and the holes were filled and painted over (my intention was to put the Mazda sticker on the bumper circa early gen NA’s). There is one small ding just under the driver side tail lamp and would attention to make this car perfect.
