E36 M3 Track car - In England/UK
Straight Copy/Paste from my advert on Pistonheads:
DO YOU WANT TO BE AWESOME?
DOES YOUR IDEA OF AWESOME INCLUDE YELLOW CARS?
YES?
THEN READ ON ;-)
Basics:
1994 BMW E36 M3
3.0L, Dakar Yellow
113K Miles
Road Legal Track Car
Bit more detail:
The time has come to sell my track car, I'm selling now as a move is on the horizon and work has determined I'm destined to spend a significant portion of my time in some awful place like Norway or worse, Aberdeen.
Either way the end result is that I need to stop drifting sideways onto roundabouts and actually buy a 'normal' car.
So my Yellow M3 is for sale.
More pretty pictures than pistonheads let me attach here:
ADACM3 - Page 1
As you can see from the pictures, its VERY yellow. When I bought the car, I decided I was buying the car for its performance and handling, not the colour.
So I covered it in stupid stickers!
The Dekra sticker is similar to the 1980's BMW race cars, and ADAC is the German equivalent of the AA or RAC, so its a joke designed to fit in with the colour scheme.
If you really want, you could pretend to be the worlds fastest roadside recovery, or you can be THE most photographed car on the Nurburgring, either way, with or without stickers, Its yellow, and a BMW, so perhaps the most hated car on the road.
Most people say things like 'gets attention' and 'not for the faint hearted' but let me make it clear, this thing is a HIT with 5 year old boys through to 50 year old men, but women think its disgusting.
This is not the car to impress girls with. This IS the car to impress men with.
I don't want to insinuate that anyone interested in the car has an unhealthy interest in attracting other men in car parks, but I've lost count of the number of people looking at the car when I'm on my way back from track days. My favourite was the German who ran up to me beaming and screamed 'This is very cool yah' in his best bad guy from Die Hard accent.
So if you want to be popular with men, this is the car for you
It was built late '08 from a standard E36 M3 bought from eBay by a well known BMW garage and started off as a little project that gradually turned into the much bigger car it is today.
It's a proper track car, stripped, with cage, everything lightened or removed, BUT it retains its heater/demister and glovebox, how is that for luxurious!
It even has proper windows that are electric and go up and down when you press a button the alarm, as I said, impress everyone except girls!
