my dad used to have one of these in London. Same model year, but right hand drive. The car broke down almost every time he drove it, but he still loved it. Supposedly the reason for this was that all the parts came from various other Ford Motor Companies. The engine, for example, is modified from an F-150 pickup, and the tail lights came from a Vauxhall. The steering wheel is from a Crown-Victoria, but with an Aston Martin badge, rather than a Ford one.
This is an absolutely gorgeous car. The interior (pics?) is entirely covered in Connolly leather, with real wood paneling. And the headliner under the convertible top is suede. In the entire model year of 1993, Aston Martin only made 39 of these. They barely stayed in business during the 1990s. This might not be the fastest or most reliable Aston ever, but your friend has one unique and gorgeous car.
