Wow Jas - that's a wonderful choice. Congrats on adding #0779 to your collection - the earliest XJ220S chassis - epic! I've been fortunate to see 3 of the 6 cars (#801 is kind of a 220C/220S hybrid) and think they are fantastic.

I wonder if you can touch on the method for importation on these cars? The last list of vehicles approved/denied for 'Show or Display' I have seen specifically lists the XJ220S in the 'Denied' column. That seems the most logical method but it appears the DOT excluded them for some reason. Clearly most of them are here anyway - I think 5 out of the 6 are in the USA so how has this occurred?

Also, if you don't mind me asking, did you buy this direct from RW or has someone else owned it in between? I met him many years ago when the AutoGallery first opened and he displayed several pieces of his collection on their Grand Opening day including #801. A few of my friends have seen his cars at the beginning of the year but your 220S wasn't in the garage anymore so I assumed at the time he had sold it already?
