Aston Martin V12 Vantage Roadster revealed

First official images and details of the V12 Vantage Roadster or Volante have surfaced prior to a formal announcement planned for later this week.

Limited to 101 units, production of the V12 Vantage Roadster will begin at the end of 2012 and last nine months.

Aston is apparently already taking orders from special clients. An unknown UK dealer has stated pricing (unconfirmed) of approximately £150,000.

To accomodate the strengthened/heavier body structure necessary for the folding soft top, the V12 Vantage Roadster has received modified front and rear suspensions as well as a revised luggage lid and rear spoiler.

Other new design elements include carbon fiber side strakes, carbon fiber mirror caps, rear lamp black outer trim with carbon fiber inner appliques, new design forged alloy wheels and Aston Martin emblems with black background.

New interior features include lower center console glass switches (instead of black plastic) and carbon/black trim detailing.

A Carbon Interior Pack takes it a step further with the addition of a carbon fiber center console fascia and carbon fiber gearshift base plate.

 

Perfection, v12 small chassis ,manual gearbox and a roadster.

The price (£150k) has been given by Gaydon to all UK dealers

All UK dealers have been gtd one car, plus a second if they have a deposit/firm order and get in quick enough

I have to say I'm not quite sure why they are doing it as a limited run however it does mean they can get away without discounting it, which is unusual for AM over the last few yrs, albeit something they are trying to address - you could effectively get 20% off a new V12 Coupe

Mine is now confirmed as chassis #005 of 101, March delivery.........can't wait !

I appreciate that limited availability will limit depreciation and such, but I just think's it's a damn shame that this - a small, beautiful, open Aston Martin - will be so scarce.
