Yup! I love my little gopro! Thinking of getting a second for more creative exploration. Also wishing a remote mic would come along soon so I don't have to hack the camera up or build my own cable.

Thx folks!

Nice vid!

The GoPro sound quality is a deal-breaker for me.

Agreed. It takes very creative camera mounting to get a good sound environment.

Though I know they are coming out with a solution soon. There are a couple pins on the header (14 & 15 I think) that are for an external mic input. I'm hoping they will come up with a nice wireless solution, but I don't mind a nice long cable either.

Youtube search and you'll see plenty of DIY drill-in-the-case mods that relocate the onboard speaker to grear effect. I just don't want to open the sealed case.

Does video well though.

Man, that thing must be a blast to drive. Landscape looks very familiar. Tons of open fields, no buildings higher than 2-3 stories, and 99% of the vehicles you pass are some form of pickup truck.

So what are you guys using for video that you find offers a good camera, good mic, compact size, easy mounting and doesn't cost enough to qualify as an "investment" ?

I'm genuinely curious. I've tried many small mobile "track cam" type cameras only to find they are all pretty weak. The GoPro is just the best I've found so far.

I'd like to expand to another camera or two. I'm not married to the GoPro though. If their cameras worked together as a "network" then that would be different. But I'm all for trying something new. GoPro has an advantage because it is "all in one". What else is available that's worth it?

^ To me, the best solution is the Video Box by VBOX.

It is pricey though.
