Thinking about buying a Jag... help?

So ive been thinking about buying an X type Jaguar. I want something to commute in and get decent mpg, but still have some pizzaz and luxury. Plus I really love that the X type is AWD...

Has anyone here owned one, or can tell me some things to watch out for when buying one? Thanks!

Im open minded at this point... Ive got money burning a hole in my pocket, but cant find the right car to spend it on. I just want a nice daily driver, but with some sportiness to it. I would prefer an M3, but the prices are a bit unrealistic imo, or more than Im willing to spend I should say... That M5 I was looking at sold, so no go there...

^^^ the x type is a great car. I had one a few years ago and had zero issues with it. Service was great, price was spot on and overall I recommend.

isn't the x-type a POS ford? i hate to bash it too much, but i would hardly consider it luxurious or anything with pizzaz. i would opt for just a regular 3 series first.

Im lookin at a 2002 X type "sport" with 74000 miles for $6500... I figure at that price I can afford any problems that come up... I hope...
Lower it, throw some 08 wheels on it, and just drive till she wont go anymore.
I would spend the same amount for a Honda civic with similar or more miles on it, so why not go with the AWD Jag... At least thats my thought...

Its really hard to find reviews on it for some reason. Most of the reviews I have found are all negative, but only towards its interior workmanship and price. Nothing about dependability or drivability...

Yes, it is "just a Ford" but I see nothing wrong with that... I have owned several Fords (including the SVT Lightning I have now) and ive not had any more problems than any other car owner. Quite minimal actually.

Compare the Jag at its price (under $10k) for any other car in its same price range and I would say its a pretty fair "bang for the buck." No? I want something thats AWD and sporty, but with some luxury (i.e. Leather, etc...) Only other car I can really find is an Audi... BMW's are very nice too, just cant seem to find what I want in the price range I want to spend.

there's nothing wrong with a ford, i just wouldn't associate it with the words luxurious or sporty. then again, for $6500, i don't know what would truly qualify. i guess the awd is great if you're planning to drive a ton in the snow or rain.

are you saying that you can't find a similar 325i for the same price?
