Is that absurd to drive one of these cars on a daily basis... I notice most cars have low mileage but i dont see the value in having a car (esp over 200k) that I dont drive... any advice? Im looking at a used 09 DBS or DB9...

 

Most of these cars resale value are highly dependent on mileage. And for some reason, a lot of people buy them but don't want them to depreciate, and ended up not driving them.

It is pointless to me if you are going to buy a car and not drive it just so it won't "lose value."

I practice what I preach, my GT2 had close to 40K miles when I turned it in after three years (granted, it was worthless because it has "high" miles). And if I were in your situation, I would so totally DD a DBS or a DB9, no question.

Cars are meant to be driven, otherwise, as another poster put it, buy a poster and look at it.

 

Get the DBS. You'll get bored with the DB9 quickly.

 

I can tell you the DB9 is not that odd of a daily driver. Some people use it as a DD here in south Florida, especially the DB9 convertible. I got a chance to drive one, and I can tell you my daily commute would be a thrill if I could hear that engine roar every day.

The DBS on the other hand, might be a bit rarer to find one used as a DD. Looking at some available, there are only a couple that show 10-15k miles which is a typical DD mileage for being a year old. I'm not sure if the carbon lip might be a problem on daily commutes in certain parking lots and driveways. It seems it would be an incredible daily driver.

I'd say go with a higher mileage DBS like the one above, try and negotiate it lower and use the high mileage as an excuse. See if the dealer bites and get a great deal.

If not get one with low a little less miles, (like this one http://www.autotrader.com/dealers/dd...er_id=63501605 ) use the high mileage DBS as a comparable and negotiate the price down to the comparable high mileage.

Either way as a DD you'll enjoy the heck out of both IMO.

 

I saw the DBS mentioned above and would actually consider it but it is a manual...I dont feel like driving a manual as a DD... I hear you on the depreciation factor as I wouldnt want to lose 100k in a year on a car but thats why im looking at used and now brand new...

 

I'd take a manual gearbox DBS, didnt like the auto.

 

spotted a DBS about an hour ago...

 

I DD'd a DB9 for about a year. I don't put a lot of miles on my cars though (about 8-10K/year). Other than expensive out of warranty maintenance and depreciation, there's no reason not to do it.

Used DB9's are so cheap right now. Buy one and drive it until it falls apart.

 

From my cursory search a while back, manual DB9's are going for a lot more than slushie ones, don't know if that's still the case.
