Exige S Engine mods?

What's out there? What bolt on kits or tuning companies can help with a significant hp gain and how much will something like that cost? These cars are at such a great price but not where i'd like the power to be. Where should I be looking...any help is greatly appreciated!

Cheers

Your options boil down to a bigger supercharger, a custom turbo solution, or an engine swap of some kind. Depends what kind of power you want and what you want to use it for.

If you have an exige s for example (240hp) with the existing 1.8l 2zz toyota engine; people have installed charge coolers, different size pulley for the supercharger, exhaust plus decat pipe, headers, intake, etc and are getting 60-70hp with tuning/mapping.
So I have heard but am not sure if the hp increase is accurate or not. But with modifying the toyota engine or any engine for that matter, you have to upgrade the transmission and clutch as the stock units can't handle above 275hp. Others swap the 2zz toyota 1.8 for a honda v-tec k20 engine as they believe is stronger and more powerful naturally aspirated (approx 200hp) they then install a supercharger on that and mod according to purpose i.e. street/track/race. I am currently starting a project on my exige s where I am planning to build it as a time attack car. Once the first alotment of parts come in I will start a thread and post pics. I have got the aerodynamics/brakes/suspension locked down but am still unsure of keeping existing toyota engine, or swapping for a honda instead as my goal is to reach 300-350 whp. Plus am sourcing a good "dog box" and upgrade the clutch along with the internals/mounts/bushings etc. Once I research more if I find a definative answer will let you know. Like my fellow Tsers have suggested, sector111 is a great place to start as they have a lot of stuff ranging from aero bits to brakes, LSDs, clutches, electricals, etc. A good forum to research on is Lotustalk.com too. Good luck with your mods and keep us posted on what your plans are for the exige, whether it be minor enhancements or a major upgrade. Sorry for ranting lol hope this helps lol
