Anatomy of a Highside
#5
Not possible during a highside. All of the momentum and weight of the rider and bike is already moving "away" or "high" due to the rear end coming around. The natural reaction is to shut the throttle when you feel the rear tire start coming around on you. Unfortunately, this allows the rear tire to regain traction far too quickly resulting in the rider getting thrown from the bike.
The only real way to thwart a highside is to stay on the gas and slide your way out of it...easier said than done though.

Not really possible in a high side situation. This happened because of his overly aggressive application of throttle. When the rear steps out, the only way to control it is with the throttle. Once that rear tire finds traction again, it's pretty much over.
