Spied: Revised Mercedes-Benz AMG G-Wagons

Our trusty Teamspeed spies, braving the cold temps in Northern Sweden this morning, have spotted two face-lifted Mercedes AMG version of the G-Wagon We suspect that these test mules are the G55 and G65 AMG. While the G55 (which will receive a minor face-lift) is familiar to most of us, the G65 will be a limited edition featuring a monstrous, petrol thirsty V12 . Rumors are the G65 will be a limited series of only 200 units at a price of €250.000.

We are not 100 percent sure what's hiding under the hood of the revised G55 AMG, but from what we've heard it will receive the new Mercedes-Benz 5.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8, that will produce roughly 525HP and 700Nm. The limited run G65 AMG is speculated to receive the 6.0-litre twin-turbo V12 with 612HP and 1,000Nm of peak torque that is found currently in the S65 AMG. Don't expect good fuel economy stats from either of these!

Inside tweaks we spotted were a new instrument cluster, steering wheel design, and a sat-nav screen on top of the dash as seen on the new B-Class.

Its debut could be scheduled for Detroit in January 2012, (we doubt this) or at the Geneva Car Show in March.

 

G65!!!!!!! In my book the G55 was always the boss of the bad ass SUV's, now the G65 is just amazing! I hope they keep the awesome exhaust note of the G55, that added to the bad-assery that is the G55.

 

I want one.

 

I would guess they're not limiting the G65s to 200 units over exclusivity, but rather not letting them affect MBs overall emissions too much . . .

Also, I have never wanted anything so pointless as badly as I do a G65! A nuclear powerplant inside a Porta Potty!?? Yes please!

 

Imagine the acceleration figure of that G65. It would destroy every other SUV on the planet. Want one badly.

 

G65 for 400k and 200 models. Makes my Edition 79 G55 with 79 total production become a bargain.

 

Only thing I am waiting for is the G 65 convertible - that would be ridiculous !!!

Cant wait.... Looking forward for a 55AMG, just hope they keep the amazing exhaust sound of the Supercharged version.

G65 will be insanely good!!
But the side mirror? That's for sedan, not for gelandewagen!
Far East Movement should make a new "Like a G6" song that referring to this G65 haha
