SLS Headlight condensation too...?
Have anybody have ever heard of a bulletin regarding headlight condensation in the SLS?? I know some people from this forum has mentioned that MB r doing something about this, but this does not seem to be the case. I just got back from mercedes benz beverly hills and spoke to bill parks, the AMG specialist working there, and he said that the car should be normal if the condensation goes away after 10 min of turning on the headlights and there is no warranty work on this??? is this for real?!? I was so pissed off that I started swearing and he said that he is going to look into it.
I said to him this is bullshit since the condensation last way longer than that, I noticed the condensation usually occur after driving so there is no way that its. Is there anybody here that has this issue fixed or should I complain to MBUSA for this? I bought the car used and it only had 4K miles on it. Any Suggestions are welcomed?

not going to say it's normal but it's pretty common on headlights that are not sealed properly or with drain plug wrongfully designed. CGT had a recall back in 05 on the headlight where new seal was updated. i guess if more people start complaining about it the recall should be not far away. make sure the voice is heard!

My advisor is not even admitting that such a bulletin exist, and he is supposedly the AMG specialist!

This SLS headlight condensation sucks. I feel really sorry for you guys having to deal with this; if you are getting one of the nicest cars at a Mercedes dealer, they should give you special treatment to fix the problem; if they don't that is total bs

FYI: Mine doesn't go away with driving. It goes away with sitting, walked out to the garage this morning and it was gone.
The more driving i do the more condensation comes back. weird

I will try to find out, but it seems to that it could also be a lie to cover up another one of my issues with the car.

FYI: my advisor said that (The more driving i do the more condensation comes back) is not normal and should get it addressed. It is only normal if the condensation disappears 10 min after u turn on the headlights, not while driving as I assume its not safe to be driving with condensation on the lamp.
I have got to admit that my advisor was being very helpful in going thru what was being done with the car. Let just hope they manage to get it right this time.
This is what they did to the car:
Insert pressure compensation membrane into both headlamps.
Both front headlight assy filled headlight vent hose with sealant cut and installed pressure membrane-- aligned front headlight.
Hope that helps!
